Highridge Swim Team (Hammerheads)

The Highridge Hammerheads are entering their seventh year in the Narragansett Swim League. Each year the team has grown and improved.  Last year they finished undefeated in the dual meet season and rose again in the All Pool Meet standings.  Our team is always looking to expand with young members who are interested in developing their competitive swimming skills in a non-competitive way.  The team practices three days a week (not required) with dual meets twice a week.  Although the Hammerheads are one of the smaller teams (approximately 30 swimmers last year) our three coaches have developed the Hammerheads as the powerhouse of the small team division.  Close attention, stroke development, and teamwork remain a driving force of our recent successes.

But the Hammerheads and the Narragansett Swim League are first and foremost about recreational competition.  Every swimmer who can safely compete is a winner! They will get to swim in dual meet events regardless of speed and can compete in the All Pool Meet with a minimum of participation in two dual meets.  The Hammerheads are about building teamwork and self- confidence while having fun at the same time. Our summer swim program is a healthy activity for young members; it is a means of exercise and it provides them with skills that give them more control in the water, creating a safer environment in the pool. Talk with your child about joining the Hammerheads this summer!

The team practices from 9 to 10:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  The practice on Friday is called Funday Friday.  Dual meets are usually at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays (in July).

If you are interested in joining the Hammerheads please contact the us at info@highridgeswimandtennis.com or call our main number (401-334-2610) to add your name to the list. We will need your name, the names & date of birth of your children and your preferred contact email address. You can also sign up during normal club hours at the front desk.

There will be a parent meeting on June 6th at 6PM under the awning. Our first practice is Monday June 29th at 9:00 AM.  It will be important to order swim suits early in order to have them in time for meets.  A group order will go in shortly after the parent meeting.  The ordering deadline will be announced.

COST

$25.00 per child ($50 max per family) (Fee includes Hammerheads t-shirt)
